Learning the CVS shopping game!

First, you will want to sign up for the CVS ExtraCare Card. It will help you make the most of the extras that CVS/pharmacy offers their ExtraCare Customers. If you make a purchase online or in-store, you will be earning ExtraCare Rewards or Extra Bucks (ECB).

Remember to keep the CVS Coupon Policy close at hand!

You will need to hand this card over to the cashier to obtain the sale price for that week. If you sign up at the store, don’t forget to put in your email addy cause they will send coupons to your email account. You will earn 2% back with every purchase in store and online. Earn 1 Extra Buck for every 2 prescriptions purchased in store and online.

Don’t forget to scan your ExtraCare Card at their Coupon Center machine!! I’ve gotten some free deals that way too.

When you are FIRST starting out you will need to PAY UP FRONT for the item!! Then the ECB will print at the bottom of your receipt. Once you get your ECB then you can use that on your NEXT transaction/purchase. ALWAYS ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN!!!!

Remember that YOU WILL NOT get cash back!!! Use your ECB wisely!! They expire a month after getting them.

 

In their policy it states that “CVS/pharmacy reserves the right to process coupons in any order.” True, but there is a method that you SHOULD be using!!!

  • Scan ECB card.
  • Scan items.
  • Use coupons that have get a $ amount off if you purchase this much. (Ex. $4 off a $20 Purchase)
  • Hand over your other CVS MQ’s.
  • Your ECBs.
  • MQ’s.

And if you go into the negative you can just grab a filler item. A filler item is a cheap item to bring you back into the plus sign.

  • Pay sales tax!
