Getting Started
How did I get started?
I started in February 2010. Well I got the Sunday Paper and started clipping coupons like crazy. And I found a small accordion tip folder at WM and put all the coupons I clipped into categories. Then I got to thinking…there has to be a better way of doing this. Most of the coupons I clipped I didn’t need! So what to do?
First where to find coupons…
- Sunday Paper
- Friends & Family
- Coupons.com
- Kuntry Klippers
- eBay
- Betty Crocker
- Pillsbury
- We Use Coupons
- Campbell’s Kitchen
Where you can find P&G and Redplum in your local newspaper.
I just find that most sites get/use Coupons.com & We Use Coupons. You can print a coupon twice, but if you have more computers you can print from that computer as well. Go for it!!
Organizing your coupons…
- Envelopes
- Accordions
- Binder with Baseball sheet protectors
I was using the small accordion that I got from WM. Then I met a lady in the CVS store that had a binder with the baseball sheet protectors!! And fell in love with that!! So now I use the Binder and it holds my pens, paper, weekly ads, coupons, and scissors.
In your Sunday paper you will either get Redplum insert (RP) or SmartSource insert (SS) or sometimes both. Take the coupons you need and place the others in a ziplock baggie with the Sunday date that it came out on. See picture below…
Check out my coupon database. I can find those coupons easily. I stopped doing this because I had overlooked a couple of my coupons.
Well now I just cut out ALL the coupons I like even those I MIGHT not use!!! But if I buy that brand or close to the brand I’m going to cut it out and place it in its proper section in my binder. So that I don’t overlook another coupon again!!! Whatever method works for you…do it!!!
How do I? Freeze? Find out at this site National Center for Home Food Preservation. They have a list, you chose, and find out how to freeze that item.
